JUST HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR DOG OR CAT?

Approximately 124 million dogs and cats live in U.S. households—
nearly one pet for every two Americans. It's official–we love our
pets—but there's a dark side to this love affair with our four-
legged friends. "Pet Noir: An Illustrated Anthology of Strange but
True Pet Crime Stories" sheds fur on some of the odder crimes
committed in recent years, exploring society's relationship with
animals in an informative and engaging comics style.. Editor and
cartoonist Shannon O'Leary will be joined by contributing
cartoonists John Isaacson, Mari Naomi, Lark Pien, Trevor Alixopulos,
Peter Conrad, Damien Jay, and Melanie Lewis for an enlightening,
lively discussion about pets, comics, true crime, and much more.

Pet Noir: An Illustrated Anthology of Strange but True Pet Crime
Stories, Edited by Shannon O'Leary (Manic D Press)

This comics collection grabs traditional noir storytelling by its
tail while taking the reader on a darkly comedic ride that explores
America's obsession with true crime while raising awareness about
animal rights issues. Pet Noir is a perfect read for true-crime
fans, pet lovers, animal rights and welfare activists, vegans, and
graphic novel aficionados with a portion of the profits going to
support the efforts of the Animal Legal Defense Fund (www.aldf.org)

Featured artists include Andy Ristaino, Trevor Alixopulos, John
Isaacson, Damien Jay, Ben Claassen III, Fly, Lark Pien, Melanie
Lewis, Jen Feinberg, Joan Reilly, MariNaomi, N8 Van Dyke, Mary
Fleener, Peter Conrad, and many more.

"…the dark, ironic effect innate to the noir genre makes for some
downright hilarious stories."
